Get Broad-Leaf Chain Sword
Propagation
Spreads by runners that pop up daughter plants nearby; snip the runners to relocate plantlets or let it form a low thicket.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the Narrow-Leaf Chain Sword?
Mostly leaf width and height. The broad-leaf form has wider, slightly taller blades that read as a denser, leafier carpet, while the narrow-leaf version is finer and more grass-like. Both spread by runners and have nearly identical care.
Why won't my chain sword spread into a carpet?
Chain swords feed mainly through their roots, so in lean gravel or sand they stall. Add root tabs around the plants and make sure light reaches the substrate; with food at the roots and enough light, they send out runners and fill in steadily.
