Frequently asked questions
How tall does Ludwigia peruensis get?
It readily reaches the top of a standard tank, often 18 inches or more, with large leaves that make it a bold background plant. Top and replant it every few weeks to keep it bushy and within bounds; the cuttings root easily and thicken the stand.
Why are the new leaves bigger and redder than the old ones?
Submerged new growth is where the color and size show best, while older leaves — especially any grown emersed at the farm — are smaller and may yellow off. As long as fresh red tops keep coming, the plant is healthy; remove tired lower leaves and replant strong tops.
