Top the stems and replant the cuttings; the bare bases regrow side shoots quickly.
Frequently asked questions
How is Moneywort different from Bacopa caroliniana?
Both are Bacopa, but Moneywort (B. monnieri) has smaller, lighter-green leaves and a more slender, faster habit, while caroliniana is chunkier with thicker, darker leaves and a faint lemon scent. Care is similar; the choice is about leaf size and color in your layout.
Why is my Moneywort dropping its lower leaves?
Usually shading — the dense upper canopy starves the base of light. Trim the tops and replant them a little farther apart so light penetrates down each stem, and the new growth will stay leafy from top to bottom.
