Propagation
Cut and replant rooted sections or trimmed tops; trimming triggers side shoots from the nodes.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Juncus repens turning reddish at the tips?
Under high light the new growth takes on a coppery-red tint — a normal and generally desirable response, not a deficiency. In moderate light the plant stays grass green.
Does Juncus repens stay upright or creep along the substrate?
Both, depending on light. Under strong light it hugs lower and creeps, rooting from nodes as it goes; in dimmer tanks it grows more vertically toward the surface. Trimming the tallest shoots encourages the low, spreading habit most aquascapers want.
