Propagation
Daughter plants bud off on short runners; separate them or scoop out excess by the handful.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Frogbit rotting from the top?
Frogbit dies when its leaf tops stay wet — usually from filter splash, condensation drip, or being pushed under by strong flow. Corral it with airline tubing or a floating ring in the calmest corner and keep the lid from dripping on it.
Will Frogbit steal light from my other plants?
Left unthinned, yes — a full canopy can cut light below it dramatically. Keep it to a fixed zone with a floating corral and remove a portion weekly; the shade it casts is also a legitimate tool for algae control and light-shy fish.
