Beautiful snail

They are a really beautiful snail. Their shell is a gorgeous light purple shell, very healthy shell. I find with large snails they eat, move then rest a lot in between. They prefer to hide under or near something when they are resting. It takes a lot of energy to move those giant shells around. Don’t be alarmed if they are not moving for sometime. They will climb the glass, eat then rest.

Large and Good Looking

First why I choose these. My 10 year old 4.5 Inch Pond Turtle Bites new friends, but she has stop bothering them now because she is unable to hurt them. Rabbit Snail optimal PH is a little higher than my well water. These are a near perfect substitute for my 7.3 PH water. The only down side for me is the mating process produces larger numbers of small babies vs the rabbits snail's single birth of bigger babies.

My snails came in measuring between 1.5 and 2 inches long, and between a 0.5 and 0.75 inch diameter at the largest point. The colors were surprisingly dark on some and pleasantly lighter on others, giving a good spectrum of colors and stripe patterns. Usually at least 1 of the 8 are moving at any given time, and they tend to be more active at night (like most big snails). I put them in a cave when they came in so i can confirm all survived the trip across America because they all left the cave. They seem to prefer my gravel (CaribSea Eco-Complete) to the sand (2mm) area. They love natural rocks as well. I also have Tiger Barbs and have not seen any issues

Lovely Snails from a Great Source

These snails give a great colour to the tank which would otherwise be missing. I can't think of another freshwater species which has this lovely almost periwinkle purple colour, and because of the colour and size, they make an excellent centerpiece species.
They came in great condition in spite of the heat pack being on its last legs. I drip acclimated them to my tank's water, then added them in, where they immediately began moving around and working over the leaf material which was put in the tank specifically for my snails. They have since been eating ravenously, and have generally been fitting in with the other flora and fauna as if they had always been there.
All I can say is that if you ever have a chance to snag a couple of these, do it! They are worth every penny!

Not quite the same

Snails received were not as nice as the ones shown in the picture. Expected a much deeper color.
