About snail packs
Different snails work different shifts. Nerites strip algae off glass and hardscape, mystery snails scavenge leftover food across the bottom, and rabbit snails till the substrate itself. A pack puts complementary species in one box — matched for compatibility, sized for common tank volumes, and cheaper than assembling the same crew one listing at a time. Every pack ships from our warehouse with our 100% Live Arrival Guarantee.
Snail pack FAQs
Which snails can live together?
Nearly all of the common aquarium species coexist peacefully — nerites, mystery snails, rabbit snails, and trapdoor snails ignore each other completely and simply divide up the grazing. The single exception is the assassin snail, which eats other snails; never combine assassins with a cleanup crew you want to keep. Our packs are pre-matched so you don't have to worry!
How many snails does my tank need?
Match the crew to the food supply, not the gallons. As a starting point: a lightly stocked 10-gallon supports 2–3 algae eaters plus a scavenger; a 20–29 gallon handles 6–8 mixed snails; larger community tanks scale up from there. Overstocking snails doesn't clean a tank faster — it just produces hungry snails. Start with a smaller pack and add if algae stays ahead of them.
