Description

Originating from all over South America, the Mystery Snail is very common in the aquarium hobby. Most Mystery Snails are captive-bred these days. They are very easy to breed and if your water parameters are right, they will lay eggs and eventually those eggs will hatch. And if you think that is a bad thing, think again ... more Mystery Snails, more algae that will be consumed from your aquarium. Now, if you have a heavily planted aquarium, i would suggest checking out some of our other snails which won't breed in freshwater and are best suitable for planted tanks. These snails are extremely hardy and live in a vast variety of water parameters. Very slow moving gastropods, always hungry and that will grown in a heart-beat.
  • Great at consuming algae;
  • Plant safe;
  • Active 24/7;
  • Amazing color variety;
  • Very peaceful.
Mystery Snails eat a big variety of foods such as:
  • Algae
  • Algae Wafers
  • Invertebrate Pellets
  • Decaying Plant Matter
  • Zucchini
  • Dead fish
Care for them:

Mystery snail 3 pack mixed

Snails arrived fast and in perfect condition. Super healthy and large. After being introduced to the tank they borrowed into the gravel and stayed there until the next day, likely due to stress from travel. Since then (two weeks now) they've been hard at work cleaning up dead plant debris on the tank floor and had it 90% clean in the first three days of zooming around. Still very much thriving. This is my third or 4th order in the last year, always highly satisfied. Nerites I ordered last year still thriving and have kept my tank algae free. 65 gallon planted tank with peaceful tetras, danios and snails, tank is fully self sustaining. All I have to do is refill evap water and throw in a wondershell now and then. Zero maintenance since outside of that since last fall.

3 Mystery 3 Strawberry Nerites

My 6 snails arrived alive which was an absolute miracle because I stupidly went with 2 day UPS shipping not realizing the nearest facility was very far from me. Poor things arrived on the hottest day we have ever had here and had been on the truck all day in that heat! They were well-packaged. I was surprised they were not in water and freaked out and put them in water quickly (the interior of the box and their shells were very warm.) and ready the instructions after. I understand why they weren't in water now and it's a good idea. 2 of the strawberry Nerites died but I think that was my fault, after they started moving around I moved them to the tank I had actually planned for them to live and I think the shock killed them. I feel terrible! Reading thru their materials 1st would have helped but also I am only ordering overnight now to prevent as much trauma as possible. This 1st batch I ordered was about 5-6 weeks ago, the rest of the snails are doing fantastic and the color mix I got from the mystery snail group is lovely! I have ordered more snails and will be more cautious with how I introduce these. I am big snail lover and the collection they have is amazing 😍

Three Snails

These Mystery Snails were exceptionally attractive. The blue snail had a moon like blue color. The white snail was a flawless Ivory color. The magenta snail was dark purple color that shined. Great place to get snails.

Cool little snails

I ordered the variety pack and got great colors. They were packed well and arrived in good shape. After acclimating them they all started zooming around the tank and haven't quit. They are fun to watch and eat just about any scraps the fish leave behind, in addition to the food i put in just for them. Two thumbs up.
