3 Lightning Bolt Nerite Snails

Sale price$11.99

Naturally from India, these Nerite Snails are some of the hardest to find in the aquarium hobby. They are easy to breed in captivity but their eggs will only hatch in brackish water, so you don't have to worry about them breeding in your aquarium. Nerite snails are extremely hardy and live in a vast variety of water parameters. They are very good scavengers that will dig under the gravel, if needed, to get that extra algae meal.

  • Great for planted tanks;
  • Will not breed in freshwater;
  • Active - Nerites are at work 24/7;
  • Safe for plants and any other aquarium inhabitants;;
  • The BEST at eating algae.
Nerite Snails eat a big variety of foods such as:
  • Algae

  • Decaying Plant Matter

Healthy little snails!

I was very pleased to see how well packaged my new critters were and that they were very clearly alive/healthy. (They were all hanging onto the bag) they’ve adjusted and been exploring their new home. Thank you!

Beautiful, curious little things.

All came alive and acclimated pretty well. They are either super curious (never had nerites before) or maybe they don’t like my water (ph too low?) but they spend quite a bit of time out of the water. Above the waterline or underside of the glass lid. They seem to sleep during the day, (in contrast to the zebra I got here at same time with a purple mystery, both are very active all the time) and they are little dozers pushing plants and decor around to their liking. Very torquey little ones.
They are small but that’s good! I like to seem em grow. Lightning bolt patterns are unique and pretty trippy to get lost in.
All in all I’m happy for them, but should I be worries about them liking to spend so much time out of the water? I’m not sure yet. It’s cycling to be a shrimp tank so time will tell. (The purple mystery is currently the star of the show)
I would happily buy again from here. Good stuff! Great seller, great shipping, great prices. What’s not to love?
