Description
Java Fern, named after the Indonesian Island Java, is an aquatic plant native to Malaysia, Thailand, India, and China. This is a plant that is widely available in the aquarium trade and has a unique look to it. It has long, pointy, and somewhat wrinkly green leaves that can be easily identified. This is a perfect beginner plant as it is very hardy and will survive in most aquarium environments. Also, it's one of the only plant that you are able to keep with some aggressive fish such as African Cichlids and some South American Cichlids. Java Fern is a slow growing plant that will do best attached to any rock, driftwood, or any decoration piece as it does not draw nutrients from the substrate.
