Description

Naturally from Asia, these Nerite Snails are some of the hardest to find in the aquarium hobby. They are easy to breed in captivity but their eggs will only hatch in brackish water, so you don't have to worry about them breeding in your aquarium. Nerite snails are extremely hardy and live in a vast variety of water parameters. Red Pumpkin Nerite Snails have an amazing shell color which can vary - from red and pink with unique white dots/scribbles, to orange/yellowish with dark stripes. They are very good scavengers that will dig under the gravel, if needed, to get that extra algae meal.

  • Great for planted tanks;
  • Will not breed in freshwater;
  • Active - Nerites are at work 24/7;
  • Safe for plants and any other aquarium inhabitants;;
  • The BEST at eating algae.

Striped red pumpkin nerites

These snails arrived healthy and active. They are small but are the most beautiful ones I’ve seen anywhere. They immediately made themselves at home and are very active. I love trying to find All of them in the aquarium and they seem to hang out together. I want them to stay small for a while. Would not hesitate to order them again.

Different from pictures, understandably, but still very nice!

If you're ordering anything living and expect it to look like the pictures, then you should just buy some manmade plastic thing because living things vary. Do you complain at fast food places? Because you don't
get anything that looks like their ad pics!
These are small, as stated in the description. About the size of a Pea, but so cool looking! It'll be fun to watch them grow.
Packaging was excellent, with each bag (I ordered 6 different kinds of snails) double bagged and so full of oxygen they were like tight balloons. The thick paper towel was water soaked. Each bag was packed tightly into the box so they couldn't bounce around and they were all double wrapped in bubble wrap inside the Styrofoam box insert, that was well worth the price, inside the shipping box.
Shipping, from my ordering to their collecting the 16 snails of 6 different species, to packing and taking to the USPS was quick! From there, it's out of AquaticMotiv's control and completely on the USPS to do things correctly. For some unknown reason, the USPS first sent them to Puerto Rico and it took 5 days! Which i reported to AquaticMotiv and they replied within hours, apologized for the USPS and let me know that ifthere was any problem once I received the snails, theyd have my back. But the snails arrived the next day and all seemed fine. During acclimation, 1 wasn't coming out of its shell, but it didn't smell bad, so I think it'll be fine. I informed AquaticMotiv of this and they reassured me that they'd have me covered.
I've bought plants a few times before, and now snails, and never disappointed.
Francisco is a wonderful human being and quick to reply and help!
