Amano Shrimp, also known as Japonica Shrimp, are great additions to any community freshwater aquarium. These tiny creatures, are not only extremely elegant but also have a great purpose - cleaning your aquarium! This shrimp in particular is the best in the business when it comes to cleaning. They feed on several different types of algae and organic debris. They are quite easy to keep and very low maintenance.
They thrive in planted tanks where shelter and food are abundant.

Sabotaged by the weather

Well, I ordered these bad boys right before the weather gave us a reprieve from the heat, but USPS delayed and delayed the delivery until we hit triple digits again. The shrimp were packed with a nice little ice pack and insulated the best they could be, but unfortunately they were no match for Mother Nature. I counted five dearly departed little guys in the bag, and two barely hanging on!

So my advice here would be not to risk the summer if you’re farther away! Wait until the autumn!
