Description

Originating from Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos), the White Wizard Trapdoor Snail is a pretty new species in the aquarium hobby. Most Trapdoor Snails are captive-bred/farm raised these days but this one in particular is much harder to find. This incredible snail has a spiral like white-beige shell that can get up to 2" in length and about 1.5" wide. Trapdoors are a great addition to any aquarium or pond. Since its big and robust (and has an amazing protective 'trapdoor') you can put this animal with any bigger fish. As long as the snail is big enough not to fit in the predator's mouth, you should be ok.
Since this snail can get pretty heavy we don't recommend adding it to a heavily planted tank with thin stemmed plants as it will lift them from the substrate or might break the stem trying to climb.
These snails are extremely hardy and live in a vast variety of water parameters. Very slow moving gastropods, always hungry and that will grown in a heart-beat.

  • Great at consuming algae;
  • Active 24/7;
  • Very robust and heavy snail;
  • Very peaceful.

Soooo adorable!

I absolutely love these lil guys... So much that I ordered 2 more! I am thrilled with how much fun they are to watch. I have many different types of snails: Hercules, Mystery, Fanus Ater (cappuccino and devil spike), nerites- but the adorableness of these is unrivaled.

As for the quality- both arrived alive. One was moving almost instantly, the other took about a week to feel comfortable enough to explore his new home. I had emailed to ask if this was normal or cause for concern, response was quick and knowledgeable. They were packaged with such care and love. Shipping label was made a few days before they shipped so they could send them out early the day of (great business practice!). They shipped all the way to rural Idaho without a single issue and arrived a day before expected.

I had plants and another set of snails in the box as well. Everything was packaged so well. The plants were incredibly healthy and large portions were sent. I appreciate that their plants are guaranteed pest free. If means they can go into my tank sooner! - The prices are fair, more than fair for the quantity and quality.

Excellent. They stand behind their snails. I do suggest doing Priority shipping for the health of the snails during the hot months at least.
