Description
The Giant Asian Freshwater Clam is an amazing creature that can be found mainly in Asia. They are living filters that will remove uneaten foods and detritus from your aquarium, causing nitrate levels to drop and help maintain your aquarium water clean and clear.
This Clam has a yellow shell as a juvenile that will darken and become dark brown/black as they age. They love to bury themselves in finer substrates. They are extremely peaceful and can be housed with inverts and other non-aggressive fish.
Clams will obtain their nutrients by filtering. Additional supplements can be offered in the form of invert pellets or sticks.
