Description

Naturally from India, these Nerite Snails are some of the hardest to find in the aquarium hobby. They are easy to breed in captivity but their eggs will only hatch in brackish water, so you don't have to worry about them breeding in your aquarium. Nerite snails are extremely hardy and live in a vast variety of water parameters. They are very good scavengers that will dig under the gravel, if needed, to get that extra algae meal.

  • Great for planted tanks;
  • Will not breed in freshwater;
  • Active - Nerites are at work 24/7;
  • Safe for plants and any other aquarium inhabitants;;
  • The BEST at eating algae.
Nerite Snails eat a big variety of foods such as:
  • Algae
  • Invertebrate Pellets
  • Decaying Plant Matter
  • Zucchini
Care for them:
  • Tank size(Minimum): 10 Gal
  • Care: Very Easy
  • Temperature: 72-82
  • PH: 6.8-8.4
  • GH: 6-8
  • KH: 2-12

Active nerite snails

The orange ring nerite snails that I received are larger and darker than I expected. They are very active and quite the escape artists. Make sure you have a tight fitting lid. I have at least a few nerites in each of my aquariums.

Different from pictures, understandably, but still very nice!

If you're ordering anything living and expect it to look like the pictures, then you should just buy some manmade plastic thing because living things vary.
Do you complain at fast food places? Because you don't
get anything that looks like their ad pics!
These are larger and darker than the pictures, but still so cool looking!
Packaging was excellent, with each bag (I ordered 6 different kinds of snails) double bagged and so full of oxygen they were like tight balloons. The thick paper towel was water soaked. Each bag was packed tightly into the box so they couldn't bounce around and they were all double wrapped in bubble wrap inside the Styrofoam box insert, that was well worth the price, inside the shipping box.
Shipping, from my ordering to their collecting the 16 snails of 6 different species, to packing and taking to the USPS was quick! From there, it's out of AquaticMotiv's control and completely on the USPS to do things correctly. For some unknown reason, the
USPS first sent them to Puerto Rico, instead of Reno, and it took 5 days! Which i reported to AquaticMotiv
and they replied within hours, apologized for the USPS
and let me know that if there was any problem once I received the snails, theyd have my back. But the snails arrived the next day and all seemed fine.
I've bought plants a few times before, and now snails, and never disappointed.
Francisco is a wonderful human being and quick to reply and help! Thank you again, Francisco!
Highly recommend!
