This stunner of a snail is the Beluga Nerite snail, also known as, White Military Helmet Snail which originates from the Indo-Pacific region. They are native to countries like Indonesia (which is where we get our Beluga snails from), Malaysian Thailand, the Philipines.
Like other nerite snails, this Nerite Snail does NOT reproduce in freshwater and it is a great addition to any planted aquariums consuming algae and scavenging for any leftover foods or decaying plant matter. Beluga Helmet Snails tend to keep most of their foot inside of the shell but are quite active. Very peaceful towards other aquarium inhabitants including nano fish, shrimp, and other snails.
It is called the beluga due to its shell being shaped like a beluga whale's head.
